MUTOH is a corporate group that continually creates new value and provides “reliability” and “trust” to its customers.

The history of MUTOH began in 1942 with the production of high‑precision measuring instruments such as calipers and rotary protractors. The company was incorporated in 1952, and in April 2007 it transitioned to a holding company structure under the name MUTOH HOLDINGS CO., LTD. In March 2026, in pursuit of new growth, MUTOH joined the Brother Industries Group, and in June of the same year, the company name was changed to MUTOH LTD.

MUTOH carries a unique DNA of creativity—a spirit that has been passed down from our Drafters, which are recognized as Mechanical Engineering Heritage, to plotters, CAD systems, industrial inkjet printers, and 3D printers.

In pursuit of further innovation, MUTOH continues to expand its business domains. In recent years, the company has entered the applied optics business by leveraging UV-LED irradiation technology and has also made MUTOH ITEC Co., Ltd., a provider of system solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary.

As a member of the Brother Industries Group, the new MUTOH will continue to strengthen its business under the “MUTOH,” “AMP SPEED” (applied optics products), and “NIPPO” (office equipment) brands. Building on the technological capabilities we have cultivated over many years and the strong confidence our customers place in us, we remain committed to advancing our business even further.
In addition, by leveraging the collaboration with the Brother Industries Group, we will accelerate the creation of synergies across development, manufacturing, sales, and other areas. Through these combined strengths, we will deliver products and services with even greater competitiveness to the global market.
