Since its inception, MUTOH has been a pioneer in the drafting and design equipment industry. In 1953 MUTOH developed the Drafter^®, Japan’s first drafting machine. MUTOH followed this hit product with automatic drafting machines, the forerunner of today’s plotters and a presage of today’s CAD era. Later we created the The PJ-1304 solvent printer, Japan’s first large-format inkjet printer for outdoor applications, building new value for the world of graphic arts. This consistent ability to breathe new life into the industry in each era is the knowledge that MUTOH continues to pass on to its Imaging and Information Business.
The Imaging and Information Business consists of three core businesses.
Our Graphics business is focused on large-format inkjet printers, which are used in applications ranging from gigantic outdoor billboards to indoor visual environments. In our CAD peripheral equipment business, we serve modern design and drafting needs with inkjet plotters, pen plotters, full-color scanners, and much more. Consumables and other supplies for the first two businesses are provided through our Supply business. With a seamlessly integrated system from hardware and software to supplies, MUTOH’s information imaging equipment business serves professional needs with uncanny accuracy.
